Victim’s Compensation (VC):

If you have been a victim of a crime, you may be eligible to receive therapy services at no charge. This is a government program that uses money fined to criminals to help compensate victims for what they have been through. Among expenses covered under victim’s compensation are therapy services, other medical expenses, lost wages, funeral expenses, and some property damage.  Here are some important things to know about Victim’s Compensation in Colorado:

–       Victims are eligible for VC regardless of if the perpetrator is ultimately convicted. Only a police report needs to be made to be eligible for VC. Please visit the website below for more information on statute of limitation.

–       Victims may be able to receive VC regardless of immigration status.

–       VC generally must be applied for in the county where the crime took place. I can help you with this application process.

To learn more about this program, or to download and application online, visit Colorado’s Victim’s Compensation Page.  If you think you may qualify for Victim’s Compensation and would like to use this resource towards therapy, please do not hesitate to call me and set up a free consultation. We can walk through the application process together.
